The Royal Imperial Imperial was one of the best American made shoes in its day and this model’s scotch grain leather was a step up from the other calfskin Shoes of the era. Florsheim called it "Coventry Calf" The shoe has intricate stitching. It’s Goodyear welted single leather sole and rubber heel means its a very durable. The design and attention to detail in the construction of this pair of shoes is SUPERB. The stitch density, for example, is very high relative to most modern shoes.
